Exhibition Text This artwork is showing two different views from they same world.
Planning
Inspiration I was inspired by my own interest in basketball. I knowing that both men and women are televised while playing this sport but I also know it is very different for both genders even though they have the same career. I just put all their differences together in my artwork. I actually switched the NBA and WNBA lifestyles around giving different view of how it could be the other way around. Alan Siegel was the man who originally made the NBA logo in 1969 and it was representing the NBA player " Jerry West". The wnba logo is unknown who made it and also was not inspired my a certain player.
Planning Sketches
This is a sketch of me trying to draw the Wnba logo.

This is my final sketch before I colored it in.

Process
Experimentation I originally was going to have two basketball courts made. That didn't seem like it would have as much symbolism if I did it like that. which had me thinking what do they have that brands the wnba and the nba. That's when I thought about the logo made for both. I also decided that I switch the colors of logos. To give it a different view, kind of like gender swapping the logo
Process I started with two large pieces pf paper, I traced one 15 in x 10 in rectangle on both pieces of paper. Then start sketching out my ideas on the paper. After that I colored it in with colored pencils.
Reflection
After finishing this project, I realize i didn't have any blending in my artwork because based on what i wanted to make it wasn't needed but i should've incorporated in there. Also it would've been better if I high quality colored pencils to color in my project. My project would have looked more put together and nice. It could be also be better i chose a different way to color it in, maybe there was a better way i could've used. For overall artwork though I believe that it came out great and that i was able to show how these two pieces of art are different .
ACT QUESTIONS
Clearly Explain and describe how you are able to identify the cause- effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your artwork ? since my inspiration is based off basketball it's effected my artwork because i made it solely about how the wnba and NBA are different while doing the same thing .
What is the overall approach(point of view)the author(from your research) has regrading the topic of your inspiration? The approach was to have the wnba and nba switch roles and have it shown as a "what if".
what kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while researched your inspiration? I discovered that men and women are differently held to different standards even when they are doing the same thing.
what was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research? To shine light on how wnba players are treated compared to nba players
what kind of inferences(conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your research ? That wnba players are not respected as a real professional athlete
